Project Description
This project was a considerably large hybrid power system that would be grid-tied but not necessarily dependent on it. It was designed for constant use not merely to provide a few hours of backup power. It featured the following components:
1. Fourteen (14) 300W monocrystalline Dekka Power panels connected in 7 strings of 2 panels each;
2. Twelve (12) 600Ah Monbat batteries were used in designing the system.
3. 5kVA Sukam inverter;
4. An 80A Outback MPPT charge controller;
5. In addition to the protection offered by the Victron inverter against overload, reverse current, etc., another layer of protection to the client's investment in the form of AC and DC circuit breakers and a surge adaptor.
