This small grid-tied hybrid system was designed to power a small range of home appliances and to provide a few hours of back up power in the event of an outage. It featured the following components:
1. Four (4) roof-mounted 250W traditional monocrystalline Era solar panels connected in 2 strings of 2 panels each;
2. A 2kVA Sinergy inverter;
3. Two (2) 200Ah Fullriver AGM batteries;
4. A 40A SNRE MPPT charge controller;
5. In addition to the protection features provided by the inverter against reverse current, overload and overcharge, an additional layer of protection features like AC and DC circuit breakers and a surge adapter.
