Victron Batteries are made by Victron Energy, the makers of Victron Inverters. Victron Energy is based in the Netherlands. They have been in the power systems industry for more than forty years. Victron Energy has a service partner in Nigeria at 27B Ize-Iyamu Street Off Billingsway Oregun, Lagos State.

All Victron batteries are valve-regulated and sealed. Gas will escape through the safety valves only in case of overcharging or cell failure. It also means that Victron's batteries are maintenance free for life and do not require constant maintenance or checks. Victron batteries are compliant with both CE and UL specifications and are assembled in ABS fireproof containers.

Victron offers a 2 year world-wide warranty on its batteries.

Range

Victron has a range of AGM, OPzS, Gel cell, lead carbon and Li-ion batteries.

Gel and AGM batteries (2/6/12V, 60Ah-300AH)

AGM stands for Absorbent Glass Mat. In an AGM batteries the electrolyte is absorbed into a glass-fibre mat between the plates by capillary action. AGM batteries are more suitable for short-time delivery of high currents than gel batteries.

In a Gel Cell, the electrolyte is immobilised as gel. Gel batteries in general have a longer service life and better cycle capacity than AGM

batteries.

Victron has an AGM battery and a Gel cell battery ranges. Batteries in these two ranges are supplied with M8 drilled, flat copper terminals ensuring best possible connection contact and eliminating the need for battery terminals. The batteries are compliant with both CE and UL specifications, and are assembled in ABS fireproof containers. They come with Victron's standard 2 year worldwide warranty.

Lithium-ion Batteries

Victron's Lithium battery 12,8V & 25,6V Smart integrates a battery balancer. Victron has Lithium-ion batteries with capacities ranging from 90Ah-300Ah. The Victron 12,8V & 25,6V Lithium SuperPack integrates a battery management system and an internal safety switch that will disconnect the battery in case of over-discharge, overcharge or overheating.

OPzV 2Volt Gel Battery

In an OPzV battery, the electrolyte is bound in a silicate gel. Generally, gel batteries have a longer life than AGM. Read all about this type of battery here
