The makers of Schneider inverters Schneider Electric is a France-based European company. Schneider Electric manufactures its inverter units in China with design and engineering support in Canada and France.
Schneider Electric owns the company that manufacturers Luminous inverters and batteries, Luminous Power Technologies.
Schneider Electric also has a strong presence in Lagos State, Nigeria. They have a joint project with the Lagos State Electricity Board to provide solar and battery-powered energy to 170 sites, including schools and hospitals in the State. The project is expected to be completed this year, 2020. In 2018, they helped complete President Goodluck Jonathan's Operation Light Up Rural Nigeria, OLRN, later renamed Renewable Energy (Solar) Micro Utility (REMU) by President Buhari in 2015. They provided three solar mini-grid projects in six geopolitical zones of the country for 109 rural communities in 16 states.
Most Schneider inverters have hybrid capabilities, that is, they can be used with solar panels and/or battery bank.
They are produce a pure sine wave output. Learn about the differences between pure and modified sine wave inverters here.
A range of their inverters come with incorporated smart chargers hence the manufacturers describe them as 'inverter-charger.'
They come in white, grey, black and green colours.
They come in thick black, silver and grey aluminium casings.
All screws have pre-cut thread on the Multi. All screws are stainless.
Their inverters have UPS capabilities. Thus they are able to switch without the appliances turning off.
They have battery protection features that protect the batteries from over-charge, deep-discharge and short-circuiting when the terminals are not properly placed during installation or during use.
They also have technologies that protect appliances that use them from damage.
Their inverters with higher output capacities come with cooling fans to ensure that the inverters do not exceed maximum temperature safety limits.
Alongside on-site displays, Schneider has smart apps, remote controls and accessories that help to remotely monitor and control an inverter system. They have driver softwares that can be used, with Wi-Fi, LAN or Bluetooth to data-log, monitor and control the inverters from personal computers computers. They can also be monitored from smartphone apps.
Home, Factory and Office Integration
They come in colours that complement both interior home, office and exterior factory designs.
They are noiseless and emit no fumes.
They come in plastic and metal casings.
They are sleek, compact and elegant.
They have wall mount capabilities. They can also be placed on racks, desks or left standing to save floor space.
Schneider has an inverter range, a range of grid-tie inverters, inverter-charger and solar hybrid inverters for home use.
Conext SW Inverter/Charger
The Conext SW Inverter/Charger is a hybrid inverter designed for off the grid back up power and for self-consumption applications. It offers 50/60Hz frequencies that can be switched. It also offers solar consumption over the grid first by maintaining zero grid export. It comes comes in 120/140v and 230v.
Available in 120/240V, the Conext XW+ is an adaptable single-phase and three-phase hybrid inverter with grid-tie functionality and dual AC power inputs. Can be scaled up to 76.5kW. It can be stacked up to 4 units in parallel and 12 total units in three phase. It is designed with for grid-interactive and off-grid, residential and commercial, solar and backup power applications in mind.
Conext XW Pro
The Conext XW Pro is designed for backup and storage systems.
Grid-Tie String Inverters
There are three different three-phase string inverters in this range.
Conext CL 36
It is a very high capacity three-phase string inverter designed for 1500V utility-scale projects. It can be scaled for output power reaching up to 125kW. It is designed for plants and mini-grids.
Solar Homaya Hybrid Home System
The Schneider Homaya Hybrid Home System is by far the most popular Schneider inverter in the Nigerian market. The Schneider Homaya comes in 850VA and 1,500VA. Though hybrid inverters, they are built to prioritize solar over grid power. They support all kinds of batteries. They are also protected against short-circuit, high temperature and other internal faults.
Regarded as a 'premium brand', Schneider inverters are comparatively, quite expensive. Regardless, they give their full financial value on the long run.
